Best Time To Practice Yoga And Do I Need To Be A Vegetarian?
Almost every week I recieve qestions about the yoga practice. Some of them I get again and afgain so I have chosen the most frequent ones and added my answers. Here they are:
Is it a good idea to start practicing without an experienced teacher? Am I putting myself in risk of injury?
You will definitely not cause yourself an injury if you keep one of the main yoga recommendations: Ahimsa – non-violence (for example: not overstretching in an asana or holding your breath to the point you start to feel tension, while doing pranayama). Anyway, when you start with new yoga techniques/asanas I would recommend you to visit a yoga class led by experienced yoga teacher who will correct the possible mistakes so you can prevent improper habits.
Is it better to practice in the morning or in the evening?
As they say: “A Hundred people, a hundred flavours.” For some it is simply impossible to wake up and practice, for others even the 6pm practice can be so energizing that they are unable to fall asleep until 2am. You may have also found that you are more stiff in the morning but you have more energy, on the other hand, in the evening you are more flexible but you have less energy.
Do I need to stop eating meat?
t is the same as with cigarettes. You don´t need to.
If you feel that you shouldn´t eat meat, then it is definitely better stop. But if you don´t feel like giving it up, eat it as long as it satisfies you.
